Nelson says about stem-cell research: "I fully support a researcher's right to choose."

Placing arbitrary limitations on which stem cells can and cannot be used is senseless and pointless. It defeats the very point of research: experimenting with different resources to see which is most effective. Stem cells can and will reduce the suffering of people who suffer from an assortment of diseases, and the sooner we understand how to apply them, the sooner we reduce that suffering.
